Seasons greetings Raider Nation! Your Raiders wish you the best in this week before exams begin. Signs of winter were in the air on Tuesday, with a delayed school start, finals prep, and most importantly, Raider basketball!
With a few more hours of sleep, the boys looked sharp on Tuesday against North Cobb, and the buzzer sounded with a scoreboard display of 49-41, Raiders on top. The team’s cohesion during the game was improved. Senior Franklin Muoka played his best game of the season, doing the dirty work down low in the paint, battling for rebounds and put backs and providing great hustle plays. Sophomores Dylan Pumpian and Landon Hong have seemingly found their stride, each starting for 3 straight games, and each hitting 2 three pointers in this contest. Looking to start another win streak, the Raiders are locked in heading towards Saturday’s contest vs. Forsyth Central in the Pit. Despite beating Forsyth Central 51-39 in their last meeting this year, the boys will need the all of Raider Nation on Saturday at 5:30 in the Pit.
The girls lost a tough game against North Cobb, 35-55. Looking for a fresh start, the girls play Forsyth Central in the Pit at 4 PM on Saturday. The girls are looking to put a 1 in the region win record this week. The last time these two teams met, your Raider girls won a thriller, 56-50. They need your support, however, as this Forsyth Central girls team is very talented. Come out and support your girls on Saturday!
Saturday, December 15 is also Alumni Day in the Pit. Come out to see not only your favorite Raiders of the present but also of the past!
